The lake

I got to have some bonus fun this past weekend. Me and the family went to the lake with my mom and my step-dad, and for the 1st time in 25 years, I went water skiing! I got up on my first attempt, and took it easy, then I played around a bit and got goofy, and now I’m sore as hell. I got pretty sunburned and so did my wife, luckily we had the sense to slather the kids with sunscreen, so they’re ok. My little angel got to ride the innertube, and she dug it. At one point we got caught in a stumpity forest of boat destroyers and ended up bending the hell out of the propeller, so we found a nice sandy spot to land the boat on. Then we took off the prop and beat it to hell with rocks to approximate its original shape. That sounds kinda crappy, but I thought it was kinda exciting……I felt like Gilligan or something.

Buddyman

My little buddy has finally taken to bipedalism as his prefered method of locomotion. He's been walking for a month or so, but has never hesitated to drop down to all fours for maximum speed. He's an olympic crawler, so I usually have to break into a sprint to get to the no-no that has caught his eye before he does. He still doesn't walk as fast as he can crawl, but I imagine it's only a matter of time. High five buddyman!

Deck Update

I just finished writing a detailed and quite hilarious description of my present deck building activities, then when I hit publish.......... it all disappeared. dammit!
Anyways, the short version is as follows. I'm finally building it, and everythings going smooth. I'm taking my time and doing it right, so everything is perfectly straight, level and sturdy as hell. This weekend I plan on workin my butt off to get it that much closer to deckness.
When I'm done, you'll all have to come sit on it and drink beer.
