sheesh...............after polishing off a 60 hour work week last week, I recuperated by finishing up the nursery. I successfully trimmed the window, hung a ceiling fan, painted all the baseboards, doors and window trim, hung the bifold doors, re-painted the inside of the closet, cleaned up the paint I spilled on the carpet, swept 20 pounds of sawdust out of the garage, reinforced, sanded and scraped an old shelf that will be painted to match the nursery, and painted the handles for the new dresser that Suzy just finished painting. Oh yeah, I also mowed my acre of heaven, watered the garden, chased off a pitbull that was scaring the neighbor kids, and went into town to see an unexpectedly bad-ass early fireworks display. In the mean time, Suzy did a fine job of painting a thousand stars all over the big deep blue wall, which made the whole thing come together awesome.

We had an awesome weekend with our Mountain Home friends who invited us to celebrate the solstice weekend. They have a great house and have done a lots of work to make it their own. Thanks to them for the good times, and congratulations to them for their great work. We were also lucky to be in the company of the mothmaster and his family, who make fun times funner and good times gooder. We hope we can have them all as our guests soon and reciprocate the good tidings and joy.

Alrighty now..... the nursery is painted; 3 walls light blue, one wall dark blue, and the ceiling has a fresh coat of flat white. The new doorway is cased and trimmed and half the new baseboards are down. The John Deere went dead, but I took a few cables and the starter relay off my old one and got it up and running.

Our baby-havin practices are in full swing, as I prepare to coach the baby haver through the intensity of childbirth. The goal is to have her lay there perfectly relaxed, calm and comfortable. This way, the only muscle in action is the uterus, and nothing will interfere with its activities. It’s all very simple. She pushed out all 10 lbs 13oz the first time, so hopefully, this time will be even better. I’ll do what I can to make it flow smoothly by keeping people and pressures and everything else out of her face.

Man...I worked my butt off this weekend. After ripping out closets, tearing down wallpaper, and cutting holes for new doorways last weekend, the walls looked like crap. So this weekend I engaged in the zen task of puttying the walls. I gazed deep into the walls... sculpting and molding the wart covered hunchback into an eye-popping supermodel. I decided it would be a good idea to have a paint sprayer to ease my numerous upcoming painting excursions, so I went to Wal-Mart, which was a way bad decision during the stockholders meeting weekend, but that’s another story. I got the Wagner paint sprayer, took it home, and quickly discovered that it not only sprays, it also SUCKS. Don’t ever buy one of these pieces of crap. I know there are good paint sprayers out there, but this is not one of them. It splattered the walls, made a mess, wasted paint....... I know there’s a learning curve involved with learning to use new tools, but this wasn’t the case this time, it’s plain and simply a crappy tool. 2 thumbs down.

This weekend I finally demolished my old closet and opened up a dimensional portal from our bedroom to the future nursery. It’s weird. Two rooms that seemed a mile apart are suddenly connected, and if you were so inclined, you could run in circles through the rooms indefinitely. I don’t think I’ll do that, but Sarah probably will. I planted morning glories all over my yard this weekend. I have a super grand plan to landscape the yard and turning it into a botanical paradise, but for now a shitload of trumpet shaped blossoms with heart shaped leaves will have to do.
